[VIRTUAL EVENT 2/14] Yes, Valentine’s Day is Commercialized AF

Hello, beloved community-

Let’s be real. We all know that Valentine’s Day is commercialized AF.

However, as love is one of my core values, and I’m happy to participate in any holiday that encourages us to celebrate it. I’ll just be doing it in my own way.

Love is so much more than Valentine’s Day.

I’ve been with my partner Loren now for almost 3 years and we’ve never gone out on Valentine’s Day because of the terrible traffic that always jams up the roads that evening and the both of us hate dealing with crowds.

We both know that love is a verb. I actively choose to love Loren everyday and he makes that same choice everyday as well.

However, even if you don’t have a romantic partner or romantic love in your life, there is still so much love to celebrate!

Love is…

...the fundamental foundation that heals everything. It is the source of all thriving of life.

This is especially true for human beings and it is the magic sauce of all transformation.

If you have self-love nothing can stop you.

All emotional wounding and trauma is sourced from a lack of love or the perception that love wasn’t there.

Most of the mystical traditions (Tantra in particular, but also the Taoist tradition) and modern effective therapeutic paths all state that real transformation exists when it’s sourced from real love.

AND, even if your love life and has been full of stress and struggle, there is nothing wrong with you and you don’t need to be fixed.

Come celebrate love with me and other like-minded sisters tomorrow night, Thursday, February 14th from 6pm to 8pm PST on Zoom for the first VIRTUAL Jade Egg Basics Class - Valentine’s Day Edition!

“I find more and more women-identified-women brave enough to risk sharing the erotic’s electrical charge without having to look away, and without distorting the enormously powerful and creative nature of that exchange. Recognizing the power of the erotic within our lives can give us the energy to pursue genuine change within our world.”

-Audre Lorde “Uses of the Erotic: The Erotic as Power”

The Jade Egg

I stumbled upon the jade egg several years ago, after a spiritual awakening inspired me to cultivate a healthier and more empowered relationship with my sexuality. Little did I know at the time that it would become the most powerful and transformational tool in my self-healing toolbox to release somatic trauma in the body.

The Jade Egg is a beautiful, holistic self-care practice that has ancient Taoist roots going back to 100 B.C. Considered a practice for priestesses to cultivate high levels of spiritual energy, it was also taught to courtesans to maintain youth, beauty, and vitality.

The jade egg gives womxn a tangible tool with a practical process to regularly:

  • remove shame, guilt, and fear,

  • integrate sexual, racialized, ancestral, intergenerational trauma, and judgement and

  • express pleasure and sexuality in a celebratory and life-affirming way.

In this 2-hour virtual class you will learn (from the comfort, safety, and privacy of your own home):

  • the origin of the jade egg practice

  • why jade?

  • about the many benefits of the practice (physical and psycho-emotional)

  • how to maximize hygiene and safety

  • a simple practice (without the egg inside), “yoni yoga”, to get you started

  • foundational energy/chi and breathwork practices to support you and your body on your healing journey

*We will not be inserting the jade egg during this class, however we will be engaging your pelvic floor muscles in a short “yoni yoga” practice to give you an idea of what it can feel like in your own body. Wear comfortable clothing (yoga clothes are great) and have a pillow, blanket, and/or yoga mat nearby to get cozy!

Tickets: $15.00 per person.

****This is event is a "brave" space and open to all vagina-bodied womxn.

Sending you all so much love!

xoxo, Heather
