Resting in Your Roots
Hello, beloved community-
Can you believe that the first month of 2019 is practically over?
As stated in my last few emails to you, my focus for January has been to embody the “Queen of Winter” by deeply resting in my roots and restoring myself.
This season also calls upon us to dream and envision what we desire to create in the spring. However, that can’t happen unless we carve out the time and space to do it.
To that end, I’ve been blocking out time on my calendar each week to nourish myself with either alone time in the bathtub, sitting in meditation by my altar (the spiritual hearth of my home), or to just chill out and/or nap.
AND, I’m doing this with zero guilt, because I’ve learned the hard way that if I don’t intentionally slow down during this season, I can fall ill from exhaustion very easily.
Also, it’s not lost on me that the fact that I don’t have children and that I work for myself, gives me way more freedom and flexibility to choose how I spend my time.
This is NOT the case for most womxn.
This is one of the reasons why I am such a huge fan of the jade egg practice for womxn’s sexual health, personal empowerment, and spiritual growth.
After suffering from acute anxiety, depression, and suicidal thoughts last spring, the jade egg proved to be one of the most transformational and powerful tools in my self-healing toolbox.
After spending SO MUCH money on wonderful alternative healing modalities such as acupuncture, reiki, bodywork, cupping, etc. in a very short time, it struck me that my access to resources and support is an enormous privilege.
However, even if you don’t have 30 minutes for a jade egg practice, just wearing a jade egg inside of you while running errands (as long as you have the pelvic floor strength to hold it - it can take some practice, and always wear underwear when you’re out and about with it LOL), gives womxn a beautiful and stealthy energy boost.
The point is, the jade egg is a beautiful, holistic practice for womxn to heal themselves and also to heal in community/sisterhood. This is power.
Have you ever done the jade egg practice in a group of other womxn? It is SO freakin’ powerful!
I’m creating something very special for you along these lines, so stay tuned for some exciting announcements coming up soon!
If you’re noticing yourself starting to sweat or feel uncomfortable just thinking about cultivating sexual/life force energy with the jade egg on your own, let alone in a group of other womxn, you’re not alone.
Winter also calls upon us to do ancestor work. Womxn are carrying so much ancestral and intergenerational trauma around our sexuality. Our primal brains are deeply imprinted with the belief that being in our bodies and expressing our sexuality is not safe.
ALL womxn have embedded layers of trauma in the body from living in a misogynist, sexist, and culturally sex-negative society.
Womxn of color have the added layers of slavery, colonization, and racism to heal and integrate on top of that.
Working with the jade egg will bring your entire nervous system online. Only then is it possible to get access to the deeper traumas, some of which we may not even be conscious of.
Dismantling my internalized oppression will be a lifelong project. As a multiracial womxn with a Black father and Filipina mother, I am healing and integrating the trauma of slavery, colonization, and racism on both sides.
However, I know healing is possible.
I also know that I’m being called to heal my ancestral line (for my ancestors and future generations), and I accept that charge. I can’t think of anything more important for me to do in this life, to be honest.
Today, I invite you to bring awareness to your relationship with your ancestry/ancestors. Where do you come from? What is your ancestral inheritance?
If you’re in need of additional support with your healing, I’m here for you. I warmly invite you to schedule a FREE connection call with me here.
