I’ve been keeping a secret

Hey there, gorgeous!

I hope you’ve had a great week so far and have fun plans for the weekend. I’m heading up to San Francisco again to see family for a couple of days.

The past two weeks have been filled with beach time, painting, parties (4th of July and several “going away gatherings” for my neighbor who is moving to Amsterdam in a few days), and a great deal of reflection on where I am in my business and life.

Today, however, I woke up feeling incredibly motivated to kick some serious ass in this third quarter (Q3) 0f 2016.

After weeks of laying low and focusing on feeling good, I’m starting to draw a map for the next chapter of my California adventure. I’m feeling excited, energetic, and ready to take action!

Laying low is scary sometimes, but all the answers we seek are inside of ourselves if we can just stay quiet enough for long enough. It’s not necessarily intuitive to back off of something that isn’t working, but more often than not, it’s the right thing to do.

I’ve written to you before about coming to a complete stop before moving in another direction. I believe in this now more than ever.

A word of advice as you navigate making space for yourself and taking time off: you don’t need to tell everyone what you’re doing.

Most people will not understand “laying low” or “slowing down” - it goes against the Puritan work ethic we elevate so highly in American culture.

The great thing is is that this is your life and what other people think doesn’t matter!

I certainly have not shared every detail of my life and business with everyone. I’ve been in avulnerable place and felt the need to protect myself from outside judgment. Looking back on the past month and a half, I’m so glad I did and also that I gave myself the time and space to process my thoughts and feelings. Ah, clarity is so sweet!

Thanks for sticking it out with me during this crazy time of transition. I’ll be sharing more of what I’m working on soon.

I hope that I’ve inspired you to do what you need to do for yourself, no matter what anyone else thinks. Only you know what is right for you.
