My Heart is Broken
Hey there, gorgeous.
While my heart is hurting over the tragic shooting in Orlando this weekend, I managed to make it out to LA Pride to celebrate love and life.
I will not hide. I will not be silent. I will not make myself smaller in any way out of fear.
Did you know that the young man who killed over 50 people with his assault rifle was a regular patron at Pulse nightclub? He even had a profile on Grindr, one of the most popular gay dating apps.
This senseless act of violence is just a reflection of the shooter’s internal state.Only someone in intense pain could create this much suffering in the lives of others.
This weekend’s tragedy is a prime example of how a fragmented identity can often turn into something dark and destructive.
We must embrace our light and our shadow. To deny a part of ourselves is the ultimate act of self-betrayal.
Do you love yourself? Your WHOLE self? Do you engage in negative self-talk?
The only thing more powerful than self-hate is self-love.
Take some time this week to reflect on how you can me more generous and forgiving of yourself. Peace begins at home with us, inside of ourselves.
Stay strong this week and let yourself be sad about this horrible event.
I hope this serves you.
All my love and gratitude,
